The Philippines confirmed its first case of 2019 novel Coronavirus (2019-nCov) January 30, Thursday.
During the Press conference, Deprtment Of Health Secretary Francisco Duque III stated that a 38-years old Chinese Woman from Wuhan, China, the epicenter of outbreak was cornfirmed with the virus.
"The DOH confirms is confirming that a 38-years old Chinese woman patient underinvestigation (PUI) is positive in novel coronavirus (2019-nCov) after her lab results arrived from the Victorian Infectious Disease Reference Laboratory in Melbourne, Australian" Duque said.
The patient arrived in Manila last January 21. She is now in an undisclosed government hospital in Metro Manila.
"She is currently asymptomatic, which means she has no fever, no symptoms suggesting illness at this point" Duque stated.
He also added, they assure the public that DOH is on top of this evolving situation.
