Philippine diplomat in UN Headquarters tested positive in COVID-19

Filipino diplomat representative of Philippine mission in United Nations tested positive in coronavirus disease ( COVID-19), recorded as first case in New York Headquarters, Thursday March 12.

In a statement made by Philippine Mission to United Nations in New York, the diplomat experienced a flu-like symptoms Tuesday after her visit in UN last Monday and saw her doctor.

"She got the call today that she tested positive for Covid-19," said in the statement.

The sick Philippine diplomat works at UN General Assembly’s Sixth Committee that discerns with legal affairs.

The Philippine mission is currently lockdown, thus they advised all personnel who have been exposed to the infected patient to do self quarantine while coordinating with New York health department.
