Russian Ambassador Igor Anatolyevich Khovaev said that their developed medicine for cough, flu, fever, and others called "Cicloferon" successfully worked on COVID-19 patients in their country and offered to donate the said medicine to the Philippines.

"We have no more cases of COVID-19 so far," he said.

Khovaev suggested to the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) and the Department of Health (DOH) to consider the drug as treatment, according to the country's procedures and protocols.

He added that Russian medical practitioners prescribed the over-the-counter medicine, Cicloferon, to patients infected by COVID-19 and recovered after taking it.

“Our medicine is as potent as our weapons,” he assured Filipinos.

Khovaev stated that he hopes Philippines' recovery from COVID-19 because of the tourism potentials in Cebu and the country for Russian tourists is remarkable.
