Solar Power plant soon to rise in Kalinga Province

Sunpower Renewable Energy Corporation is set to be the partner of the privince of Kalinga in building a solar power plant that would be able to generate up to 5 megawatts soon.

According to an interview with the Tabuk City Mayor Darwin Estranero, the project would help ease the problem of the people of the province whereas the electricity bill is so costly. Reports from various sources supported the statement wherein it proves that Kalinga is one of the provinces with highest cost of electricity.


Through the help of this project, the power supply within the province could be more effiecient but with a lower cost at two pesos per kilowatt hour.

It also support the cultural standards of the people to remain eco-friendly because solar energy does not produce greenhouse gases nor pollution.

Currently, the city is ready to issue the needed business and building permit that would be forwarded to the Department of Energy for inspection and approval.
