The Department of Health (DOH) acted to ensure public safety after the disastrous Taal Volcano eruption that made thousands of residents to evacuate to nearby evacuation centers.

Health Undersecretary Rolando Enrique Domingo stated that P1.5 million worth of arrangements were already prepared in the affected zones of the calamity.

“The Department of Health is distributing supplies like masks, respiratory medicines for asthma, water containers, and purifiers for the affected areas and we are also mobilizing our health workers,” said Domingo in an interview earlier with Manila Bulletin.

He added that they are also concerned with bringing health workers to evacuation centers, congestion, water supply, and hygiene to avoid unnecessary disease outbreaks during the emergency.

No casualties have been reported yet to DOH as of now according to Domingo.
