Ever since the COVID-19 outbreak started, different measures have been taken to avoid the spread of the virus, like social distancing and lockdowns being implemented, you will practically spend your time indoors. Different hobbies have emerged like gardening, cooking, and household chores. One of them is gaming. Anecdotal evidence seemed to point out that people are getting engaged in gaming more than ever, along with streaming services like Netflix. People have been playing more online games like Fortnite: Battle Royale and Call of Duty: Warzone. There seems to be a popular demand for Nintendo's "Animal Crossing: New Horizon" during the lockout. There was also an estimate of 10 million more hours each day of people watching online gaming streamers on the streaming website Twitch.tv. Steam, a video game distribution service by Valve, also recorded its highest peak of people online, reaching over 20 million players online. Their previous record was at 19 million, 1 million lower than the current. In their data, the hottest game currently is Counter-Strike: Global Offensive who reached 6.2 million players. With the outside world being dangerous, it is a relief to know that connection with people is still available. Not only that, you are connected with people who, you share a simple but enjoyable hobby.
