Riot Games and its co-founders Branden Beck and Marc Merill donated $500,000 each to support organizations that are currently helping to fight against COVID-19. In its total of $1.5 million contributions, $400,000 will be going to Los Angeles Food Bank and $200,000 will go to the Mayor’s Fund for Los Angeles to ease the cost for healthcare, senior meals, and other similar people who may need help. “On top of that financial contribution, Riot Games is working to secure critical personal equipment for LA’s hospitals, like much-needed masks to protect our front-line doctors and nurses,” according to Los Angeles Mayor Eric Garcetti. The company is based in Santa Monica and hosts it's North American League Championship Series (NALCS) across the street from the company's studio. Ever since the outbreak started, Riot Games held most of its NALCS games online. On top of that, the League of Legends championship games across the world were canceled, from Chinese's LPL and LDL, Korea's LCK, Europe's LEC, and finally North America's LCS, in which most of them switched to online amidst the outbreak.
