The Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology (PHIVOLCS) denied spreading misinformation that Alert Level 5 was raised over Taal Volcano indicating that the eruption is already hazardous, Monday, January 13.

“Wala pong katotohanan ang mga kumakalat na balita patungkol sa pagtaas ng Alert Level ng Taal Volcano sa Alert Level 5 na nakikita natin sa mga iba't-ibang social media accounts,” the PHIVOLCS clearly stated on their socal media account.

They Clarified that Alert Level 2 was raised over the Mayon Volcano since March 2018.
