Ginebra wins game 3 against Meralco, 92-84

The Barangay once again survived the powerhouse Bolts in the game 3 of the PBA finals Sunday evening at the Smart-Araneta Coliseum with a stronghold on the 2nd half of the game.

The Gin Kings operated like showtime in the third period of the game outscoring the Bolts, 35-16

The scoring outburst was led by Justin Brownlee with 24 points, Japeth Aguilar with 23 points, and Stanley Pringle with 21 points.

Aguilar bullied his way into the paint as he has been unstoppable under the rim while Pringle was the key choice for outlet passes for a rainbow 3 or a drive to the basket.

"It's a great team win. Everybody was really focused. We were shaky in the beginning ... We had a defensive mindset throughout the whole game. That's what we pride ourselves on," said Brownlee.

Though Brownlee could not have a streak show, he presented himself with patience from the perimeter and penetrating to the basket too.

"[The Bolts] were tough to handle. For the most part, we were able to get our game going tonight. That's the way we play. We got some stops and got on the open court. Stanley [Pringle] had a bunch of spectacular plays," Coach Tim Cone stated after the game.

However, the Bolts surged back to the game as Durham led them with 12 points in the fourth quarter to narrow the gap, 87-82, with only 2:04 left in the game time. He finished the game with 23 points, 13 rebounds, and 7 assists.

Meralco suffered a great loss as Raymond Almazan, their starting center suffered a left knee strain in the first quarter and was not able to come back to the game onwards.

He was rushed to the hospital immediately to be evaluated and treated.

Game 4 will be played this Wednesday, at 7 p.m., at Smart-Araneta Coliseum.
