Amidst the crisis happening in the whole world, PBA players provided donations for their fellow Filipinos mainly the people working in the PBA included in the “no work, no pay” bracket employees to be able for them to survive during the cancellation of the games during this quarantine period.
Many players wholeheartedly donated segments of their salary including the Ravena brothers, Cliff Hodge of the Meralco bolts and Chris Ross of the SMB.
CJ Perez of the Columbian Dyip stated that “this is bigger than basketball” and humbly addressed that he is very willing to donate because the people behind the game are part of his career.
“Blessing sa career koi to, resulta ito ng lahat ng hardwork”, Perez said, “kaya ibibigay ko talaga para sa basketball kasi ito yung bumubuhay sa akin”, he added.
The Ravena family, on the other hand, focused on bringing help for some frontliners in Cainta, Rizal.
“Sila talaga yung nagsa-sacrifice ng health nila para sa health ng buong bansa. Kaya sobrang naaappreciate naming ng family ko yung mga ginagawa nila”, Ravena shared.
Terrence Romeo suffered from so much hate from the general public for the past few years but right now he secretly provided help to two hospitals in Pasig and Caloocan who were already lacking supplies wherein he donated his whole one month salary.
More and more players are sharing their blessings to the public, which fulfills the tagline of the league “Liga ng mga Bida”.
