Rudy Gobert positive to COVID-19, NBA cancels games

Utah Jazz center Rudy Gobert tested positive on the COVID-19 before the game against Oklahoma City Thunders at Chesapeake Energy Arena, Wednesday, March 11.

This resulted to a fast decision by the National Basketball Association (NBA) to cancel the season all throughout to keep both the players and the fans safe.

"The NBA will use this hiatus to determine next steps for moving forward in regard to the coronavirus pandemic." The league stated.

The league’s management suspended the season as part of the precaution to be taken as the disease continue to spread.

Several sport leagues and tournaments across the globe are now considering cancelling games upon consultation with medical experts.
